How do you know what's best for you if you don't know yourself?
The answer is: You don't.
And the next answer to your question "What can I do about it?" is very simple. Meditation.
What is meditation you ask? You will find out soon - when you try it.
Many people don't do meditation simply because they haven't got the time or they just think that they can't meditate because nobody thought them how to.
The big revelation to all of you who don't know this: meditation is as natural as eating, sleeping or breathing. If you don't eat, you can't function properly. Same goes for sleeping and breathing. So following this logic what happens if a person doesn't meditate? That question is quite hard to answer mainly because there is a lot more people that doesn't meditate than those of them who do. If the entire community is making a mistake by not meditating then it comes to your mind when you think of meditating that YOU are the one making a mistake.Meditating not only promotes better focus, keeps your mind fresh and rested but it also makes you feel rejuvenated and one with your inner self. Your self is that one person that is behind all of the things you do. That person that knows no moral, ego, happiness and sorrow. That person that doesn't see money, house, cars, emotional dependance. The person that is only happy to exist, and that alone makes you happy. It feels good to be happy and feel good about yourself right? So connect with your inner self - meditate.
All of this information that i mentioned now is just the start. I will be talking about it more in my further posts, so just keep reading.
How to meditate
First of all, I know i said meditating is natural and anyone can do it without help, however everything a person does can be perfected. There are many meditation techniques available so it's best to keep your knowledge of everything you do fresh, and for starters, I'm going to give you a little start introduction how can you feel the effects of meditation today and now. Just follow this guided meditation.
Here are the steps you can follow:
1. Find a quiet and comfortable place
- Find a place where there is minimal noise and where you feel comfortable
2. Get in position
- First position that comes to mind everyone that practice meditation is this:
This is the classic stance for one to begin meditation, yes. But is it necessary?
No.
The main thing when settling in and preparing to close your eyes and meditate is that you keep your back straight and your body relaxed.
You can achieve this by various positions:
- Sitting on a chair
- Laying on a bed
- Standing is an option too, why not!
There really is no prescribed position for you to be in, so get creative and find a way for you to feel comfortable.
3. Start meditating
- First slowly inhale through your nose and exhale through your mouth, do it 5 times
- Now close your eyes, continue breathing slowly (now you can breath on your nose only if it works better for you)
- First thought to have is (my recommendation) a positive one, and keep it that way, you don't want to be all sad now, am I right? Think of a waterfall, a beautiful flower in the morning breeze, I don't know, find something that keeps you feeling good and focused
- Maintain that focus of well-being and let your mind go, if your mind starts drifting away (and it will, that is because you don't know how to meditate yet fully) just get back to that waterfall and start it all over
- Continue for at least 15 minutes
4. End of meditation
- Inhale through nose, exhale through mouth 10 times
- On the 8th exhalation slowly start opening your eyes
- Enjoy your rested body and soul :)
See you soon,

I tried meditation and really liked the way it made me feel. Interesting blog!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you liked it, if you like the feeling then you should make it an everyday routine. If you have any questions feel free to ask. :)
ReplyDeleteHello, i am also a begginer in meditation, and i read somewhere that you should focus on your breathing, not a positive thing.
ReplyDeleteWhat do you think about it ? Or do you think that you really need that happy side of meditation ?
And if your positive thing is a person or a moment with this person you love, is it too much feeling-dependent ? Don't know if you see what i mean, can't really find the words :D.
Thank you for reading my comment.
Take care, Salomon.
Breathing, positive thing, both things work just fine. The purpose of having a "start" is basically here for you just so you won't lose focus on meditation and wonder with thoughts way too much.
ReplyDeleteThere are as many types of meditation as there are types of people. Some people like to think breathing, some people think of nice things, so the assumption can be made that some people even think negative thoughts in their meditation, it's a matter of choice and personal well-being.
Positive thing should not be only a person, it should be everything around you, as we are all one. If you're not familiar with the topic stay tuned for more posts.
Thank you reader.
Been meditating daily for almost 2 years. I've become way more patient, calm and relaxed in day to day life. All should practice meditation. cheers
ReplyDeleteI practiced meditation today, it was pretty good, I didn't have a silent place (my apartment has 6 people and near a highway so its tough to get pin drop silence). However, I put on some meditation music on my headphones for 15 minutes, it was great. I'll definitely keep doing this!
